Housekeeper – Clean and perform light maintenance of restrooms, retreat centers, and cabins. Most of this cleaning takes place Monday through Friday. The Housekeeper often works alone and is required to complete strenuous cleaning tasks. The ideal applicant will have experience in housekeeping, the physical strength to complete these strenuous housekeeping tasks, an eye for cleanliness, and an understanding of the ministry and mission of our organization. This position requires applicants to be dependable and flexible with a positive attitude and able to receive and act on feedback from their supervisor.
Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher – Assist with food preparation and clean up, including commercial dishwashing, following food safety guidelines. Needs to be able to take direction well, work under pressure with poise, and perform efficiently in a number of tasks.
Supervising Cook –Direct food preparation, service and clean up following a menu and food safety guidelines. Supervise a staff of 2-6 people per shift, paid and volunteer. Experience is required in food preparation, food safety guidelines, and supervising others. This position requires applicants to be dependable, flexible, have a positive attitude, and be able to receive and act on feedback from supervisor.
Assistant Site Manager –Assists the site manager in routine maintenance of site and facilities and assists in completing construction projects on the 250 acre site with 47 buildings. Requires a valid driver's license. Knowledge and use of basic tools, lawn care equipment and chain saw is desired. Basic carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing skills is preferred. The assistant site manager helps set up for special events, cleans and maintains storage and maintenance facilities, assists with housekeeping tasks, and provides for trash pick-up and lawn maintenance as needed.
Seasonal Lawn Care Assistant - April through October - The lawn care assistant mows the grounds, does basic lawn care and weed whacks. Work is dependent on the weather and grass growth.
Summer Visiting RN - Summer Only - The Visiting RN visits Wanake each day of the summer camp program, Sunday through Friday, June 11 through August 4. The visit requires a 30-60 minute visit to check the medical log, oversee the health director’s work, and assist with special concerns or issues. This position also includes being at Wanake on Sundays for check-in from 2:30-4:30 PM. The ability to be on call is very helpful. There is leeway for time off during the summer.
Summer Ranch Hand - Assist with feeding horses and cleaning the barn. Move hay and feed. Observe horse health and report concerns to ranch manager. This position is very part-time and is only a handful of hours each week.
Summer Horseback Riding Instructor/Assistant Horseback Riding Instructor - Assist with lesson instruction, including spiritual themes in the instruction. Assist with trail rides and other events at the ranch. Other duties as assigned. CHA or similar training preferred. This position is very part-time and is only a couple of hours each week.
