Parents and Kids Weekend

Here is a great opportunity to enjoy Wanake together as parents and kids. Experience the beauty of God’s creation and the community of sharing together as Christian families at Wanake. Canoe, hike, sing, climb, craft, study the Bible, take a pony ride, worship, and enjoy a campfire as we take in all Wanake has to offer for families. Stay in a retreat center, cabin or your own tent or RV. We will start Friday at 7 PM (eat before you come) and conclude on Sunday after lunch at 1:15 PM.

Wrangler Helper Training Weekend-
Friday-Sunday, May 4-6, 2012
Grades 10-12 in the fall of 2012
Wanake is looking for horse lovers who also love Wanake. Wanake needs your help to make this first year of the NEW Wanake Ranch a success. Wrangler Helpers assist the head Wrangler and Marcia, our head riding instructor, with the care of the horses, preparation for riding times with campers, instruction in the barn and ring, pony rides, and the many tasks there are to running a ranch. This weekend is the chance for you to learn about this great opportunity and get some training. Successful completion of the training weekend may result in an invitation to spend a week or more living at the Wanake Ranch and fulfilling the responsibilities of a wrangler helper. Horse Day Spa

Take time this Mother’s Day weekend to enjoy time with your mother and your daughter(s). Enjoy the setting of the NEW Wanake Ranch while finding renewal for both body and soul. We’ll spend time with the horses, enjoy a light lunch, and take time for manicures and meditation on the Word. Arrive by 10 AM. We will conclude around 4 PM.

Wanake Alumni Work Week

Put your skills to work for God’s Kingdom. Assist in preparing for the summer camp ministry and enrich the on-going year-round retreat and outdoor education ministry. Gardening, typing/filing, mailings, Trading Post set up, Home-in-the-Woods preparations, baking, mowing, trail/prayer trail/nature trail maintenance, and more await you. In the evenings we will enjoy campfires and more fellowship. A day outing in the surrounding area is an option. Alumni will plan their own schedule as a group once on site.

Wanake Ranch Grand Opening

Horse programs have long been a part of the Wanake summer program. In the past Wanake partnered with a local ranch to offer summer campers with a variety of horseback riding opportunities. This year with the addition of the Wanake Ranch to the ministry, Wanake is able to bring the horse program home.
Come see the Wanake Ranch on Saturday, May 19th for the Grand Opening. There will be tours of the Ranch including the ranch house and barns, pony rides, and chuck wagon refreshments.Come celebrate with us!

Memorial Day Family Weekend CAMP-O-RAMA
Friday-Monday, May 25-28, 2012
Bring your family and spend Memorial Day weekend at Wanake. Stay in a retreat center or cabin or your own RV or tent. Plan to arrive Friday evening and stay through Monday afternoon. Families do their own cooking this weekend. Cook out on an open camp-fire or bring your grill. Our host for the weekend is Doris Brown. Doris has many exciting activities planned for you and your family such as swimming, climbing, canoeing and pony rides.
Cost includes: 3 overnights & activities (meals are on your own).

Clown Ministry Workshop-

Want to explore clowning? Are you already a clown in ministry and want to learn more? Check out this weekend of learning, outreach, and “clowning around.” Join Wendy Gillespie and learn the basics or expand your knowledge. Meet others who clown and network. Share tips, try new ideas, and enjoy the fellowship of others who share your interest. It’s an introduction to clown ministry for all ages.

Annual Confirmation Retreat-

Bring your confirmation class to a high powered weekend at Wanake. Dig deep into your faith and the United Methodist Church. Our topics include the history, beliefs, sacraments, and connectional structure of the United Methodist Church. In addition to our workshops, we’ll also enjoy games, crafts, music, campfires, worship, and activities with new friends.
One adult chaperone required for every 5 youth, and at least one chaperone of the gender of each confirmand who attends. The fee includes lodging, five meals, snacks, program, & activities. This event begins at 7 PM on Friday & ends on Sunday at 3 PM. We will be staying in retreat centers.

Families of all ages are invited to experience the beauty of God’s creation and the community of sharing together as Christian families at Wanake. Indoors we will enjoy the comfort of Wanake’s retreat centers with a fire in the fireplace, games, Bible study, crafts, and more. Outside we will use what God supplies to explore creation and have fun. Included may be sledding, hiking, snow sculptures, and unique winter games.

Youth Connection Weekend -“Cabin Fever”-

This fully programmed weekend is for youth groups of any size. Youth from a number of youth groups come together for the weekend. Designed to build community and strengthen the bonds within your group, it will give your teens opportunities to meet Christian peers and gain strength for living out their faith. Bible study, worship and activities are led by Wanake staff. Adults from your congregation provide custodial supervision (one adult chaperone required for every five youth). [Adult leaders of teens, this is a great opportunity to build community in your group and stretch your teens spiritually.] The fees include lodging, five meals, snacks, program, and activities. Esther-A Beth Moore Women’s Retreat-

Join us to discover God’s destiny for you as we study Esther: It’s Tough Being A Woman. If you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seem overpowering, this is the Bible study for you. Study, discussion, fun, worship, meeting new friends, and fellowship are all a part of the weekend as we explore the book of Esther. We’ll begin Friday evening and conclude Sunday after lunch. Wanake will supply all the meals, materials and leadership. You bring your Bible, and, if you wish, a friend! Come ready to be challenged and return home renewed.

Resurrection Egg Hunt & Camp Preview Day

Come spend the afternoon at Wanake’s Resurrection Egg Hunt and Camp Preview Day as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. We will have a Resurrection Egg Hunt all over camp, complete with Resurrection Eggs, candy, and even campership money prizes! There will also be awesome door prizes! Interested in coming to Summer Camp? Camp preview activities include tours of camp, canoeing on Lake Arnold, rock climbing in the Outpost Barn, and refreshments. Egg hunters will be divided up by age group to hunt from preschoolers through sixth grade. Bring a friend!

Spring Family Horse Ride-

Bring your own horse(s) or lease a horse for the weekend. Enjoy Wanake's comfortable housing and excellent food service and take in the beauty of God’s creation on Wanake’s horse trails. Enjoy the fellowship of others who appreciate God's creation, including horses.
Room & Board Rates - include 2 nights & 5 meals: Retreat Center Room - $79/teen or adult, $49/child ages 4-12; Rustic Cabin, Tent, Trailer or RV - $59/teen or adult; $39/child ages 4-12 *Children under 4 receive free room and board.
