While we believe in keeping traditions alive here at camp, we also feel change is sometimes necessary and can often be a good thing. We've listened to your ideas on how to make camp better and we're applying many of those changes to this summer.
Let's be honest, teenagers function differently than everyone else. We stay up late, sleep in and like to eat a lot of food. Although we love adventure, we still like to chill and have some downtime every now and then. So why wouldn't we get to do these things somewhere that's supposed to be the time of our lives? Camp at Wanake!
So that's exactly what we're doing. The NEW teen programs are geared toward having fun, staying up late, sleeping in more, more time doing what you signed up for (rock climbing, horseback riding, ATVs, go karts, etc.), hanging out around the campfire more often, and enjoying all the other things camp has to offer!
In addition to all the new things this summer, teen aged groups are having our own Barn Party on Sunday night with worship, fellowship, food and group games! It's going to be a great time!! However, we haven't changed everything. We still have things that make camp what it is like Barn Riot, Wilderness Worship, Vespers, campfires, pow wows and having fun every chance we get!!
