Wanake, a year-round camp and retreat center owned and operated by the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church, has served as a Christian camp and retreat center since 1946.  Wanake offers:

  • Summer camp programs for children Kindergarten through Grade 12
  • The rental of Camp and Retreat facilities, food service, and program opportunities for those carrying out retreat, conference, or camp events
  • An outstanding outdoor education location with excellent food service

What's new at Camp Wanake?

Wanake Introduces its New Food Service Manager

Dale1Wanake would like to introduce our new food service manager and newest member of our year round staff: Dale Swearingen Jr. Dale is a graduate of Malone University where he majored in History. He is married to his lovely wife, Ellie. Dale has several years of food service experience, including cooking for over 2,000 students daily at Malone. We are excited to welcome Dale to our team and look forward to the great food that he and the food service staff will prepare. Dale is bringing some exciting new changes to the kitchen like an all new fresh menu and the new food revolution! Check out the food service page to find out more.

The Horses Come To Camp!

Wanake is now the proud owners of 2 horses and 1 pony. They live down at the New Wanake Ranch. Their names are Sonny, Benny, and Beauty. We plan to lease more for the summer program!

Wanake Celebrates 65 Years of Ministry September 24, 2011

From the 1940s to the 2000s, Wanake looks forward to welcoming each decade of alumni back to camp. The festivities on Saturday, September 24th from 10AM-7 PM will give alumni opportunities to reconnect with Wanake, other alumni and God.
