Camp Wanake and Wedgewood United Methodist Church partner together to announce four weeks of summer day camp. Each week at Wedgewood UMC, has a different theme and includes a day trip to Camp Wanake in Beach City, Ohio, for swimming and other adventurous activities. The Camp is for children going into grades 1 through 6 and runs from 9 am to 3 pm daily. (Field trip Thursdays will run until 5 pm). Campers bring their own sack lunch. Cost for each week is $74 if registered before May 1, $79 before June 2, and $84 after June 2.

June 25-29 – SPORTS WEEK
Do you really like sports? Want to try out a new sport to see if you might like it? Come to Wanake at Wedgewood’s Sports Week and get a taste of 2 different sports each day. We will play basketball, football, kickball, field hockey, soccer, Frisbee, dodgeball and tag games. Be sure to bring your good sportsmanship as we have fun playing games. Each day we will also slow it down for fun with crafts, singing, Bible study and your sack lunch. The week will be highlighted by a field trip to Camp Wanake where first through fourth graders will get to climb the challenging indoor climbing wall and our fifth and sixth graders will attempt to scale the 47 foot outdoor climbing tower! We will also cool down by swimming in the Wanake pool.

July 2-6 – THE GREAT OUTDOOR WEEK WITH HORSES
This week we will experience all that nature has to offer in Wanake at Wedgewood’s Great Outdoors week. We will enjoy a nature hike, learn how to use a compass and a GPS, play nature games, and more! The crafts this week will be full of nature. The week will be highlighted by a field trip to Camp Wanake where first through fourth graders will get to ride Wanke’s new horses and ponies around the riding ring and fifth and sixth graders will enjoy a full trail ride! We will also get to cool down in the Wanake pool. What a great setting to enjoy Bible study, singing, and your sack lunch in the great outdoors!

July 9-13 – SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK
Spend a week having a great time doing science like you’ve never done it before. Stretch your mind and challenge your creativity while having a blast. We will learn how a solar telescope works, play with a solar car, explore electricity, and work with robotics. The week will be highlighted by your explosive craft: Rockets! First through fourth graders will learn how to build and launch awesome pop bottle rockets. Fifth and sixth graders will build and launch explosive model rockets. We will take a field trip to Camp Wanake where we will get to go swimming and launch your rocket in the Wanake fields. Of course it would not be camp if we did not enjoy Bible study, singing and your sack lunch.

July 16-20 – SECRET AGENT WEEK
What’s the password? You’ll find out this week! Wanake at Wedgwood’s got a brand new file of cases to be solved this summer! Bring a disguise so you can go on secret missions without being recognized. Tackle the secret agent obstacle training course, make a top secret craft, and perfect your stealth in fun covert games. You’ll get smart as you bring God’s love to others and ensure peace, justice and the Wanake at Wedgewood way! We will also be able to keep our energy up and moral high as we enjoy Bible study, singing, and your sack lunch. The week will be highlighted by a field trip to Camp Wanake where we will enjoy canoeing at Wanake’s Lake Arnold and go swimming in the Wanake pool.
