Summer Camp 2017
As Wanake steps into its 71st year of ministry at this “beautiful, spiritual place among the hills,” I invite you to an experience that lasts a lifetime. Alumni regularly point to lives powerfully transformed by the experience of living in Christian community with peers and mentors at Wanake. Challenged by mentors who allow campers to consider important life issues and discover the truth that God loves them and has an amazing plan for their lives, alumni and present day campers alike find the strength to drop their masks and truly be themselves, a child of God. Studies show that having multiple positive, adult mentors allows children and youth to navigate the challenges of life and develop their full potential. Wanake alumni have found this to be true.
Campers build strong friendships as they live in small family groups of 10-12 campers with two counselors who serve as positive, Godly role models. These friendships can exert positive peer pressure and create durable connections, making a difference in a camper’s life for a lifetime. Family groups live, play, study, eat, and pray together, as well as enjoy all the themed program offerings. This Jesus-centered community encourages new ways of thinking and reinforces positive habits as campers practice decision making and have opportunities to take responsibility.
Wanake’s program takes place on 250 acres of God’s creation. Time spent outdoors in nature among the hills, trees, lakes and fields allows campers to grow closer to an awesome God through His awesome creation and take responsibility for being good stewards of God’s gifts.
Wanake’s goal is that campers will experience transformation in a new, renewed, and/or strengthened relationship with God. Counselors serve as mentors and facilitate daily devotions, Bible study, prayer, and teachable moments, providing settings for campers to grow in relationship with Jesus. Each camper is given opportunities to practice leadership, encouraging growth as a Christian leader.
Wanake’s Summer Camp program offers your camper several different programs to choose from each week. Options range from baseball camp, to horse camp, to outdoor survival camp, to fashion camp, with 38 unique programs to choose from this year! So whether your camper loves to rough it in the woods, or would rather the comforts of an air conditioned retreat center, Wanake has something for everyone!
I look forward to seeing you soon at Wanake, “the beautiful, spiritual place among the hills!”

How to choose a Camp Program for your child
Wanake has learned that most families look:
- For a date that best fits the family’s schedule
- For a program that fits the age group and interests of the camper
- For sleeping accommodations that best fit the child’s needs and wants.
- For a price that fits the family budget.
We offer a wide variety of programs; there is something for everyone. However, you may find yourself overwhelmed when looking through our brochure. We have been working hard to build tools that will help you with the process of finding the perfect program.
Use the interactive, sortable tables here on our website to narrow things down and to find the perfect program for your camper!
If your child is a younger camper or it is their first year, consider a Beginner Program.
If your child loves Horses, consider a Horse Program.
If your child loves Rustic Camping, consider a Rock Lodge/Survival Cabin Program.
